Ando Loco

Established in 2005 Andoloco Mexican Restaurant and Bar brought the first authentic Mexican cuisine to beautiful Koh Phangan. Located 400 meters outside of the main town of Tong Sala on the Baan Tai road we serve late lunch and dinner until 10:30pm every day except Tuesday. Our extensive menu draws from locally procured foods when possible while also bringing favorites like made to order Guacamole made with imported Australian avocados. We bring you authentic tastes, large portions and backpacker prices. But please don’t leave until you try at least one of our killer margaritas.

Chef Ando`s background

As a child growing up in Chicago my early days often were spent serving chips and salsa or stirring up a batch of Sangria to help my mom while she bartended at a popular Mexican restaurant called Carlos Sweenys. It was fun for me then but who would have thought 30 years later I would still be doing the same thing! Fast forward to age 23 and you would find me in Chicago working at National 27 in the River North area of Chicago bartending and learning the secrets of a fine-tuned high-end Latin kitchen. Then throw in a backpacking trip to South East Asia where I found an environment and culture that became my new home. But, something was missing out here! Good Mexican food! Back I went to Chicago where I worked for 3 years fine-tuning the cuisine that would become the food of Andoloco. I learned by cooking with Mexicans and for Mexicans from small taqueria kitchens to the high-end kitchen of Zocolo restaurant in Chicago. Authentic was my goal and I knew Thailand did not have all the ingredients I need so I ship a pallet of essential Mexican goods annually to keep our food real. Take the time to look at our menu and come enjoy the flavors of Mexico even on an island in Thailand!
